General Volunteer Policies:
*To volunteer at our warehouse, you must be at least 13 years old.
*Volunteers must wear closed toe shoes. We also recommend comfortable clothes.
*Volunteers must register in advance for all volunteer opportunities.
*Volunteers aged 13-15 must be accompanied by an adult.
Health & Safety Policies:
*If you are feeling ill, particularly with symptoms related to COVID-19, please contact MedWish to cancel or reschedule your volunteer shift.
*Individuals are not required to wear a mask, with the following exceptions:
-If you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 10 days.
-If you have been in close contact with someone who is experience COVID-19 symptoms within the last 10 days, unless that individual has tested negative for COVID-19.
-If you have returned to volunteering after 5 days of isolating due to a positive COVID-19 test, you must wear a mask at all times for 5 additional days. Please note, you may only volunteer to work on day six following a positive test if your symptoms have been improving and you are fever free for 24 hours.
*If you are unvaccinated and have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or a presumed case of COVID-19, please do not visit MedWish during the quarantine period.
*Please practice basic cough and sneeze etiquette, and practice good hand hygiene:
-Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
-If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hand. Discard used tissues in waste basket, and wash your hands afterward.
-Clean your hands often with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60-95% alcohol or wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Soap and water should be used preferentially if hands are visibly dirty.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Please note that policies may be adjust per CDC and public health guidelines as needed.

*We recommend volunteers dress for the weather as some parts of our warehouse do not have air conditioning.
*We recommend that volunteers bring a water bottle. Water coolers will available on site.
